The SFMT is looking for a Scenic Designer to design and paint the set! OR we are looking for a Scenic Designer to team up with their favorite Scenic Artist, and therefore, split the design fee. We are looking for flexible designers who are familiar with working on original new plays.

Employment is roughly from: May - July 4th
Fee for Scenic Designer alone is: $1350
Fee for Scenic Artist alone is: $900
Fee for Scenic Designer who also acts as Scenic Artist is: $2250
     It will be the Scenic Designer's responsibility to find and hire the Scenic Artist if they themselves do not wish to paint the set.
Building and painting material budget total: $2250

Must be available for:
Production Meetings: Dates TBD
At least two dress rehearsals: Dates TBD
All Previews: Dates TBD
Opening Weekend: July 1st, 2nd and 4th

The SFMT is looking for a seeks a Technical Director for the 2017 Summer Season.

You are:
A professional Technical Theater Worker who believes in Speaking Truth to Power.
A believer in Theater as a means for communicating this message.
A believer and practitioner of teamwork, collaboration and cooperation as the best way towards this end.

We are: The San Francisco Mime Troupe, a diverse, collectively run, professional, Tony Award Winning Theater Company that has been speaking truth to power for 57 years. We perform for the broadest possible audience in public parks throughout the Bay Area, and Northern California. We have toured Nationally and Internationally and are planning to do so again.

We need: A Technical Director who can work with our Scenic Designer, interpret designs and build the set for our summer show, who can manage a team of volunteer builders of varying levels of experience and mentor interns. Must be able to create a build schedule, attend all production meetings and collaborate with the Director and the Mime Troupe Collective throughout the production process. As we are creating an original show, flexibility and problem solving are strong assets for the candidate.

Time line: Build begins last week of May
1st preview the weekend of June 17
2nd preview the weekend of June 24
Opening July 1

Pay: $4,352.00 total or $544.00 per week for 8 weeks. If the job can be done in under 8 weeks, the total amount will still be the same. Building and painting material budget total: $2250.

Cook a park meal for approximately 18-25 Troupers
Put up Posters in all Bay Area Neighborhoods
Help us set up or take down in the park
Hand out programs before the shows

Cook a meal for approximately 15 Troupe Teen Artists Mon-Thur

YEAR ROUND skilled, volunteer:
Plumbers (for misbehaving toliets and dripping sinks)
Handymen/Carpenters (who can help as needed)

You can work off your parking tickets with us!

Do you know the right people? Help waive fees for Park Permits in:
      Santa Cruz, Davis, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Oakland

The Mime Troupe accepts video auditions from performers who are out of town during our regularly schedule audition dates. Submissions may be made year round and will go directly into our database for future viewing during audition dates.

Please upload your audition onto YouTube or Vimeo with NO EDITS.
Video requirements: 1 physical/comic piece (classical or contemporary) no longer than 2 mins and sing 32 bars of song to music. Choose material that also shows off your physical skills.
