Post-Show Talkback + the SJSU "Never Again is Now! mural project"

Stick around after the performance for a 8:10-9:10pm Post-Show Talkback uplifting the Never Again is Now! mural project at SJSU. The talkback will feature a panel discussion on WRECKAGE, Japanese incarceration, and art in this political moment. Panelists include Keiko Shimosato Carreiro (SFMT Collective member and Mari), Yvonne Kwan (Associate Professor of Asian American Studies at SJSU), and Vanessa Hatakeyama (Executive Director of Japanese American Museum of San Jose). 

Never Again is Now!: Disrupting Silence and Memorializing Japanese American Incarceration at San José State University is a student-led and artistic movement to remember Japanese American history and call for the recognition and acknowledgement of San José State University’s role in the incarceration of Japanese Americans as a result of Executive Order 9066 during World War II.

SFMT is thrilled to collaborate with and promote this powerful campaign and further contextualize some of the political questions explored in WRECKAGE. Please join us!

Bathrooms can be found on the 1st floor (lobby level) of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library, pictured, the library closes at 8pm.

Public transportation is recommended. The light rail and buses run nearby.

Parking on the "Main Campus" is available for, at a cost. Permit must be purchased as soon as you park. Parking after 5:30PM on Wednesday is $8. See HERE for instructions on paying for your parking.
