YTP Presents ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence

Time & Location

Oct 06, 2025, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

SF Mime Troupe Studio, 855 Treat Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110

About the event

On October 6, SF Mime Troupe Youth Theater Project joins 48 communities nationwide for ENOUGH! Presenting six urgent new plays by teen writers confronting gun violence.

ENOUGH! empowers teens to confront gun violence by writing new 10-minute plays that spark conversation and inspire action in communities nationwide. This spring, ENOUGH! received 127 submissions from across the country. Six bold short plays were selected by a panel, including New York Times-bestselling author Jason Reynolds, Congresswoman Gabby Gifford's, and nationally recognized dramatists.

“These plays cut straight to the heart of what it means to grow up in America today. They remind us that the voices most impacted by gun violence — young people — are also among the most powerful in driving change.” says Michael Cotey, creator of ENOUGH! and Joaquin Oliver Artistic Producer.

“Sadly, young people are living with the reality of gun violence every day — and too often, they’re left out of the conversation. What I love about ENOUGH! is that it gives them a real space to speak, to process, and to lead. These plays are bold, emotional, and honest. That’s why YTP is so proud to bring this event back to our studio space.” says Lisa Hori-Garcia, our YTP Program Director.

THE YOUTH THEATER PROJECT TEAM

The San Francisco Mime Troupe's Youth Theater Project (YTP) team is dedicated to empowering young people through theater. Led by a diverse group of theater practitioners and social justice artists, they mentor young apprentices, guiding them in expressing their thoughts and experiences creatively. These mentors, who come from various backgrounds within the Bay Area, share a passion for using theater as a tool for artistic expression, social awareness, and personal growth.
