NEVER SILENT, ALWAYS REVOLUTIONARY

"America's Foremost Theatre of Political Satire."

The first reading of A Red Carol was at Occupy Wall Street/Oakland on Christmas Eve 2010, and over the last 15 years we have done different readings and versions of this play, in the midst of the 2020 pandemic we recorded a full radio play version of A Red Carol and we would like to share that radio show again this season!

A Red Carol is leavened with labor songs, and features a 10 person cast that includes present and veteran SF Mime Troupers, led by Mike McShane as Ebenezer Scrooge, Michael Gene Sullivan as Bob Crachit, Velina Brown as Mrs. Crachit, and Milo Carter-Daniels as Tiny Tim, with the voices of the specters provided by Jarion Monroe (The Ghost of Marley), Keiko Shimosato Carreiro (The Ghost of Christmas Past), and Wilma Bonet (The Ghost of Christmas Present).

A Red Carol features traditional music with additional lyrics and arrangement by Daniel Savio.
With
Patrick Byers on Strings and Winds, David Rokeach on Percussion, and Daniel Savio on Keyboards.
Music produced by Daniel Savio and Taylor Gonzalez and music consulting by Bruce Barthol.
With sound design and engineering by Taylor Gonzalez.

The San Francisco Mime Troupe acknowledges that, wherever we are performing, in every park or theatre, the Troupe is always performing on stolen land.

Miwok, Washo, Pomo, Ohlone, Costanoan, Chumash, and so many more.

The Troupe believes that to live without fear of brutality or death by the hands of police or domestic terrorists, without fear of economic oppression based on race, gender, immigration status or class - are things any free people should be able to take for granted.

We encourage you, our audience, to always be part of the revolutionary solutions, and to support the dismantling racist and Capitalist supremacy.
